What is Wisdom?

Wisdom is the capacity of the mind (the renewed mind) that allows us to understand and apply life from God’s perspective; having the ability to judge, apply knowledge, and make sound decisions based on the principles of scripture.
Collective and individually, we are called to occupy, manage, and govern by divine wisdom. King Solomon understood this principle. In order for him to rule a kingdom that represented God on earth he needed wisdom from God. Despite his failures, he still understood he needed wisdom in order to rule. 2 Chronicles 1:7-10.

We must also embrace this principle if we are going to embrace the spirit of discipleship; which is yielded to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. When we live from this Lordship perspective,  we yield our lives to Christ by dying to ourselves in all things. Causing us declare what is true; all things belong to God.

In other words who we are, what we possess, and the things we have authority over is HIs. When we represent this truth in our lives we bear fruit and bring glory to God.   (John 15:8).

Scripture for Application

James 1:5-6a
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith without doubting.

Wisdom is something God gives freely. The only condition to receiving is faith. Think about some areas in your life where you lack wisdom. Examine every area in your life and trust God will give you the wisdom you need to live out what He has ordained for your life.
